Today’s launch includes our multi-platform conversational content management system, a brand new and expanded set of analytics tools including custom dashboards, user segmenting, conversation path analysis, and retention reports, and a deep integration with everyone’s new favorite hosting platform Glitch!

Botkit Studio is now available to everyone who wants to build bots of any type or scale!

We see developers building bots of all sorts with Botkit. Apps for the Slack app store like BubbleIQ. Apps for Facebook messenger like Ask Mona. Apps by big enterprise software vendors like Concur. And tens of thousands of developers who have built bots of every description for their teams or their company’s Facebook page.

All of these developers need the same type of tools: Somewhere to write dialog for the bot. Somewhere to see what messages have been sent and how they were handled. Somewhere to see how many users are interacting with the bot, and how regularly they do so.

We have solved all of these problems.

Our ability to offer all of these tools in conjunction with our open source SDK means that developers can get everything they need to launch and operate a bot from one place. But more importantly, these integrated tools allow developers to take direct action on the data they see in our new reports to improve their bot by adding content, changing triggers, and adapting to real conversations with users.

All of these tools work seamlessly with Facebook Messenger, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Spark, and Facebook Workplace Chat. Developers can upgrade their existing Botkit apps to expand their bot’s capabilities with these new tools with just a few lines of code.

Here’s a look at some of Botkit Studio’s coolest features:

Botkit Studio allows you to create custom dashboard metrics to track specific events or messages sent by your users or your bot. The custom metrics you create on the dashboard can be used to segment your user list and create path analysis reports!

View complete transcripts of conversations your bot conducted with users. Learn from and adapt to real world interactions. The ability to create new content and triggers is only a click away!

Use the new paths report to track user progress as they use your bot. Track multi-step conversions, and see find out where your dialog can be improved.

Our conversational content management system supports the creation of rich dialog systems that use the latest and greatest platform features like rich card and interactive buttons. Branching dialog, conditionals and dynamic variables make it easy to create complex interactions.

We’re also debuting our paid subscription tiers as part of today’s launch. Designed for companies who will make serious use of our tools, our two initial paid plans start at $20/month and $99/month and feature the full suite of Botkit tools and APIs for use in large team or consumer settings. Of course, we’ve also got a free developer tier which is perfect for small teams and personal bot projects.

This launch wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of the Howdy team, every member of which has worked furiously to bring these tools to life. In addition, we had enormous help from the original Botmetrics team (Arun Thampi and Sandeep Chivukula), and our friends at Voxable here in Austin who pitched in to build the deep intertwingularity between these pieces of software. And most importantly, we couldn’t do any of this without the constantly inspiring community of Botkit developers and contributors who push us forward every day. Thank you!

Botkit is the leading open source tool for developing bots for all major messaging platforms. Dive into our extensive documentation, examples and starter projects, then join 6000 other bot developers in our community chat room.
